We just had an earthquake.

My physical therapist and I didn't feel it but everyone around us (literally feet away, separated only by single walls and curtains) did.

5.9! I had no idea the East Coast had seismic activity! Are you all right?

Oh we're all totally fine (as far as I know, but I haven't even heard of a single injury), everyone's just freaking out, seemingly more out of excitement than fear, because New York (and Long Island specifically) doesn't really have things like this happen. I think there have been light earthquakes here before but none that I can remember. Thanks for the concern though. :)

Apparently we live on a fault line according to Random Guy at the doctor's office. -shrug-

Actually I shouldn't have even mentioned Long Island - I don't think any part of New York is used to any kind of plate-shifting. You should have heard the radio lol, they weren't... cheerful, exactly, but all very animated about it.
